I’m a Therapy Newbie
What You Need to Know
- Taking the step to start therapy takes a lot of courage. I will honor that.
- I will not push medications. Incorporating medication into your treatment plan is 100% your decision. I recommend trying ART before trying medications due to its effectiveness at calming your nervous system.
- It's common to come to therapy for a particular issue and end up realizing it's connected to other issues and not a straight line to resolution.
- All appointments with me are virtual currently, although in person may be an option if you are in Pennsylvania, particularly for those interested in ART intensive work.
- Therapy, whether talking or doing ART, is collaborative; I have training and experience, but I am not an expert on you and your life. It's through combining my expertise with yours that resolution and lasting change is possible.
- I frequently alternate ART and talk therapy sessions because it can be helpful to talk through the experience, impact and implementation of any changes desired.
